1. Bathe early and wear clean clothes.
2. Purify the puja space by sprinkling Gangajal.
3. Install the image or murti of your ishta devata; offer flowers, akshat, and a lit lamp.
4. Offer incense, naivedya, and arghya (water).
5. Chant the mantra or stotra associated with this festival 108 times.
6. Perform aarti with family and sound the conch.
7. Distribute prasad and offer dana (charity) to those in need.
